We recently caught up with U.S Sports Scholarships client and current Indian Hills student-athlete Georgia Lindon. Georgia shared with us her experiences so far from her freshman year in the States as well as her plans beyond graduation.
Can you tell us about the experience you have had on your scholarship in the States?
So far since I’ve been here it has been hard work having to adapt to the different environment, training styles and playing styles and just being away from home! But I have loved every second of it, from the soccer side and the college side! Practicing every day and having a lot of games in the week has really helped me build as a player and improve my performance!
What has been most memorable to you about your experience?
The most memorable experience so far is having a winning streak of 10/10 games and also scoring and assisting a lot of goals! Also experiencing how different people are here and adapting to a different lifestyle. As well as travelling round to different states has been good.
Can you tell us about your plans for the future beyond graduation?
At the minute, my main focus due to it being my major is athletic training/coaching! I hopefully will transfer to a university after my 2 years here to carry on playing and studying but my plans are to become a high level coach or an athletic trainer in the long run.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering a sports scholarship?
The advice I would give is make sure you’re 100% sure you want to commit to something like this, make sure you do your research in collaboration with the U.S SS team, especially on the offers you have got! Also it will take time to adapt to being in a different country but if you get an opportunity like this, definitely take it!
Think you have what it takes?
