U.S Sports Scholarships is delighted to officially announce our exciting new partnership with the League Football Education (LFE) to offer apprentices with unique opportunities to continue their playing careers, whilst studying a degree overseas.
LFE was established in 2004 by The EFL and The PFA to deliver the Apprenticeship Programme to 16 to 18-year-old players at English Football League clubs. LFE’s responsibilities extend to the delivery of life skills to U9-U21 players, parents and club staff.
Anthony Cato, LFE’s Transition Officer, said: “LFE is thrilled to have secured this partnership with US Sports Scholarships. American Scholarships have proved to be a popular pathway for many Academy footballers over the years and the ability to work with an organisation of such quality is fantastic for us.
“It was vitally important for us to bring the expertise of U.S Sports Scholarships onboard to facilitate this transition route for those who intend to continue their playing experience while also gaining an education over in the States. We look forward to working closely with the organisation and helping to offer unique and exciting opportunities for our apprentices.”
Our Managing Director Liam Barrett said: “The whole team is extremely excited to be officially partnering with the LFE to help provide various pathways and worldwide sporting opportunities to the student-athletes they work with.
“Having been an LFE academy scholar myself, I realise how important it is to educate players on life outside of the professional game – whether that is in the UK or overseas. LFE helped support me throughout my time playing and studying in America, so it is a real honour to now be working alongside them to help support the next generation of players.”
