Matt Perry is the former Graduate Assistant, turned Assistant coach and Interim Head Coach of Life University Women’s Soccer Team. He helped turn the Running Eagles into a 2-15 team to an 11-7 record, reaching the programs first conference final as Interim Head Coach in 2022. He has served as a Head Coach U21 Women’s Premier Soccer League and an Assistant Coach in the newly formed USLW League both for Southern Soccer Academy in Atlanta. Perry currently possess’s his FA Level 1 and FA Level 2 accrededation as well as a Coerver Coaching Diploma.

His other previous coaching experience includes working for Coerver Performance Academy, Sporting Springfield, Fair Grove High School girl’s soccer coach, and Dixie High School junior varsity head coach.

On the field. he played all four years at NCAA II Erskine College as an outside back and was named captain his junior and senior years. While at Erskine, Perry appeared over 60 times for the team and in his senior season led Erskine to the conference tournament final, narrowly missing out on a place in the NCAA National Tournament. He continued to play after graduating for the National Premier Soccer League team, Demize, in Springfield, Missouri, captaining it to the NPSL Playoffs for the first time in its 16-year history and featuring for the PASL team on route to a national championship.

The Shropshire, England native earned his Bachelors of Science in physical education and coaching in 2019 from Erskine College and his Masters of Science in Excercise Science from Life University in 2022.
