Greg Beard brings a wealth of elite-level experience to the US Sports Scholarships track and field team, both as a decorated athlete and a leading coach in the UK athletics scene.
A dominant force in British shot put for over a decade, Greg was national champion in every age group from U15 through to the senior ranks. He is a three-time England Senior Champion, a Commonwealth U18 Champion, and a World U18 finalist. Greg proudly represented Great Britain at both the European and World Junior Championships, and later as a senior athlete at the European Team Championships.
Now an accomplished coach, Greg has served as an England team coach and holds several national development roles, including England Talent Event Lead and YTP Lead for Shot Put, as well as Para Academy Lead for Throws. He is also the founder and Director of Explode Throws Coaching, a leading UK-based program for developing throwing talent.
Greg has coached multiple national champions and medalists, and has guided numerous junior athletes to success at English Schools Championships and beyond. His passion for developing young athletes and deep technical expertise make him a vital asset to the US Sports Scholarships team.
