Answers to Questions Received
How much additional spending money should I bring?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is covered as part of the tour. If players wish to purchase additional snacks or clothes / souvenirs you will need to bring additional money to cover this depending on what you plan on purchasing. A tour member last year stated around $50 / year was sufficient.
Should players bring cash or have a pre-loaded card?
As above bringing some US dollars can be helpful. Our staff also use Monzo cards with money loaded on them and there shouldn’t be any international transaction charges. A player from last year also mentioned that Fair FX was a good multi-currency card to use.
Will there be safes and towels in the bedrooms at Arizona Charlie’s Decatur?
Yes.
Will I need a travel adapter or different plug for charging electronic devices?
Yes. American plus are different to. UK plugs. You can either purchase an American suitable plug in the UK or usually at the airport.
How long are the games?
70 minutes consisting of two 35 minute periods
Where can I be updated on how the team are performing?
The schedules will be updated by the tournament provider. We will also be sharing results and photos on our social media channels.
What boots should I bring?
There is a chance you will be playing both on grass and astro surfaces so please prepare accordingly and bring suitable footwear. You must also wear shinpads in all matches.
Will the swimming pool at the hotel be accessible?
No
Will players need to bring their own training or playing kit?
No we will supply this. For any training sessions if a player prefers to bring and wear their own socks they are welcome to.
Where can we watch the games?
The games will be recorded and streamed by an official partners called NextPro and BallerTV. You can view their various packages on the website by clicking here. We will also bring our own video recording equipment and do our best to get as much footage as possible, if permitted, albeit this is not guaranteed so if you want to watch every minute of every game we recommend purchasing a package from Baller TV.
Will the hotel have wi-fi?
Yes but no guarantees it will work perfectly throughout so if having internet access throughout the trip is important to you we recommend purchasing a bolt on for international coverage while you are away. This usually works out around £5 per day but can vary depending on who your network provider is.
Can a parents and staff WhatsApp group be created?
Parents are welcome to contact one another but our from experience on previous tours, parent and staff WhatsApp groups can become a potential issue and risk assessment of staff time whilst on tour. As I’m sure you can understand, we need to focus our full attention on delivering the absolute best tour possible throughout the duration and regularly answering queries can potentially prevent this from occurring. The time difference can also mean responses are delayed. Hopefully the content covered on our seminars and this page helps address any concerns but Danny, Liam and Ellie can also be contacted directly should anything need urgently addressing.

Accommodation: Arizona Charlie’s Decatur
This is a stay and play soccer tournament therefore the hotel is assigned to us. We stayed in this accommodation last year as did many other touring teams including others from the UK and it is ideal for a touring soccer team – large rooms, comfy beds, close to everything we need – it is not Caesar’s Palace. Players will be sharing rooms with minimum three to a room and maximum four in what are twin bed rooms. The rooms assigned to players can be viewed above on this page. This is standard for US college teams on away trips for those looking to play and study in America in the future.
