During his time playing in America at William Carey in the NAIA Matt won many accolades including; 2016 and 2017 conference defensive player of the year, 2016 and 2017 first team all conference, 2016 and 2017 MVP, 2016 3rd team All-American, 2016 conference new comer of the year, 2016 player of the year, 2017 first team all American and captained the side. In 2017 Matt also captained the team to a 17 game winning streak, which resulted in them being the number one ranked team in the country. He also holds FA youth module 1,2,3, FA youth award and UEFA B coaching licenses having coached at Colchester United’s academy in England from 2012-14 after being a youth team player there from the age of 5 to 19.
